Snow way!
Gardener’s favourite Monty Don began filming for the new series of BBC’s Gardener’s World this week. It may be hard to hide the snowy scenes, we have all experienced lately, in the final edit. Very unseasonal. My Mum reminded me earlier that the UK has actually had snow in June before and not to worry about the delay in the arrival of Spring. I guess Mums do know best.
Sunday (19th March) is Mother’s Day and here at Whilton Locks Garden Village we love to welcome Mum’s (and Grans) to the site with a whole host of wonderful things to see, to browse, to eat and to enjoy.
Our Mother’s Day displays are available now and include a beautiful range of gifts, to suit all budgets, and also cards, candles, photo frames, signs, soaps and so mum mum mum more.
It is, of course, our plants that we are well known for. Our mixed arrangements, available in an extensive choice of planting styles and pots, start from just £9.99. A plant is an abiding gift that can last for many years. As I am clearly the favourite child (ha ha!) my Mum can look out into her garden at one of the trees I bought her, from Whilton Locks, a couple of years ago. It still looks fabulous and was a far better gift than the long forgotten, quickly munched chocolates my sister bought!!! I remind her often.
Talking of which, a reminder of magnificent meals that are on offer at Canalside (have you seen the fabulous refurbishment yet?) Mothering Sunday itself starts with a brilliant brunch (Online booking advised here), continues with a delightful dinner and finishes with an adorable Afternoon Tea (Online booking advised here). With super specials on the Saturday (to make a weekend of meeting many mothers, step-mums and mothers-in-law) and the forthcoming week too offers fab opportunities for a visit for Mum, or for you to purchase something she’ll love.
Mum’s the word.
See you soon!
