We have always insisted our Afternoon Tea here at Whilton Locks Garden Village was something special – it looks like you have agreed too.
“Decided to treat myself and my mum for an afternoon tea somewhere. I first saw that Whilton Locks did an offer on Groupon so thought this is the place we will try, and after reading the positive reviews too.
One thing need to say is you need to book the afternoon tea in advance.
We started by looking through the garden centre which was lovely with all the Christmas displays well worth a trip too and if your looking for a real Christmas tree this is the place to go as they all looked so full and healthy, also the unicorn in the picture was in display too. Oh and they have an ice skating ring too.
Well the service was excellent from start to finish, we were asked to select what type of sandwiches we wanted each from a large choice selection and drinks too, which they also topped up for free when requested.
When the afternoon tea arrived in the cake stand, the sandwiches were beautifully presented and freshly made, scones with cream and jam were warm. The tea also had a mini fresh cream victoria sponge which was yummy, plus lemon drizzle and a slice of chocolate cake. All delicious.
As there was so much we were offered a bag to bring home any cake we couldn’t manage at the time.
All together a lovely afternoon with mum and super service and delicious afternoon tea out. I would recommend a visit, lots of other choices on the menu too.”

“Took my 2 daughters-in-law + 2 grandsons (4 and5 years old) and 2 baby granddaughters for afternoon tea. We were made very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The teas were exactly as the picture on their website, fresh and delicious.
The choice of sandwich fillers was vast and generous. We lingered longer than we should as the boys were enjoying watching the canal boats go by and spotting their favourite lorries on the M1, which could be seen from the outside play area.
We will be returning to try the wonderful looking large homemade cakes that were on display. Probably as dessert after one of their tasty looking lunches.”
